About Me

My photo
I am someone who always wanted to write, but never took the time. So now you can read my thoughts for the moment. Keeping up with my little family seems hectic at times...but it's my favorite thing to do!

SUMMER FUN!

We got the swimsuits out...filled up the pools...and turned on the sprinklers!  Summer is here!  And it's freakin' hot!
But the kids don't let that keep them down.
These girls are so much fun!  They are best friends.  I love my precious girls...look how much they've grown!
They love to play in the water and outside in the sprinkler.

For Father's Day, mommy had to work in the morning, so Daddy, Grandma, Candice and Ainsley took Papa Jumbo out for lunch.  Mommy was sad because they went to Zio's, but Ainsley brought me some good spaghetti!
That night we went to eat with DanDan at his house.  We all went swimming and enjoyed the beautiful evening!
These little ones are becoming such fish!  Ainsley still holds on pretty tight, but she's getting more and more brave.

She can even swim on her back!

The next night, we had dinner with Papa Steve for Father's Day and his birthday.  We cooked out and played outside.  By the end of the night, those girls were laughing like crazy with their Papa Steve.  They had so much fun!  And boy, were they showing their tricks!  Ainsley wasn't ready to Papa to leave...she asked the next day if he was coming over again!  :)

We had such a busy weekend...I think they were wore out!

Josh and Laura Neal 6/19/2010

Josh is Joe's 1st cousin (one of many!) and he married his sweet lady, Laura.  Their wedding was beauiful!  All the fam was there and we had a blast!

This is the lovely couple cutting their cake.  Which I might add was made by my MIL.  Isn't she amazing at making cakes?!?!  Here is a pic of the grooms cake...

All cake and all edible!  Even the baseball!

Ainsley and I had fun dancing around and eating goodies! We took this pic of ourselves, but it was blurry!
But I like it anyway!

(we don't want Candice to get married so she can still have the same last name as us!)

Shrek Forever

I took Ainsley to see her first movie in a theatre.  Our friends, Jennifer and Cooper, invited us along with them to see Shrek Forever in 3D.  I thought Ainsley would love this movie!  Especially if it had the "Shrek babies" in it!  I was wrong about so many things...except that she DID love the Shrek babies!  :)
The movie started at 10:15am, but I swear the volume in that theatre was so loud you could hear it from the lobby!  So, of course, she cried.  And cried.  We had to take a bathroom break 3 times before the movie started.  Which was ok since there were 30 minutes of previews.  Seriously?!?!  This is a kids movie...they don't have patience! Anywho...
Once the movie started, we put on our glasses.  Silly me, I thought (AGAIN) that since this was a kids movie they would have small glasses.  And I was wrong!  So Ainsley had to hold her glasses on.  She was a trooper, but did eventually give up to eat some popcorn!
That's not her happy face!

She did like the movie...especially the "Shrek babies" and wanted to see it again.  But to quote her, "we don't need to go to the movies.  it was TOO LOUD!"
After the movie we went to the Disney Store.  I thought they would have some "Shrek babies" for purchase so she would be happy about the movie I made her sit through.  They didn't!  (This day was making me completely wrong!  LOL)  But she enjoyed playing in the store.
Also, just around the corner, they were giving away spicy chicken sandwiches from Chick-fil-a!  Free from Chick-fil-a is ALWAYS a good day!  But we had to get the kids something.
So Cooper and Ainsley sat quietly on the stools and waited in line with us!  YEAH RIGHT...they're 2!
They got up...and got down...and spinned around!  And kicked each other...

It was a fun day and Ainsley took such a good nap.  But let me tell you...she is still not happy about that movie being so loud!

Mommy had to work on Memorial Day, so Ainsley got some "Fun Daddy Time".  Joe took Ainsley fishing for the first time.  I wasn't too sad that I missed this outing, because I didn't want her reaction to be what mine is...which isn't excitment about fishing!  I don't mind fishing, as long as I don't have to actually touch the fish!  :)
As you can see, she had a good time.  But when I asked her if she liked it...she said the fish were "slimy"!!
We shall see how many fishing expeditions we go on!  I'll keep you updated.  :)

Rock a-bye baby...

Some days I still rock my baby to sleep.  Not every night, but some nights.  And lately, I have not only rocked MY baby...but HER babies, too.  Oh my friend!  Not just one baby...but multiple babies!

Sticker Club

Our sweet friend Taylor Meeks invited us to be a part of the Sticker Club.  You had to mail stickers to the first person on the list-and then copy the letter and mail it to 6 of your friends.
I thought this would be so fun for Ainsley!  So I did it!  I sent out six letters to friends and asked them to participate.
Out of the 6 people, only one "participated".  (minus Candy and Garrett, but they sent Ainsley stickers to make up for it)  Ainsley was so thrilled when she got all her stickers in the mail!  They were stuck on EVERYTHING in my house!

We appreciate everyone who played...and we may just go another round soon!  It was so much fun to see Ainsley open her stickers.  She got so excited every time we went to the mail!

A special thanks to Haddee and Saradee for playing!  It was so much fun.  I hope that you get LOTS of stickers!

UCO

Joe played his last 2 years of baseball for UCO.  The coach, Coach Simmons, retired this year.  The first plan was to attend his last home game, but it got rained out.

Because of the rain out (or not), there was reception in his honor at Rocky's Music Hall in Bricktown.  Every team that Simmons coached was invited.  (he has coached there for 20 years!)
There was such a good turnout!
Joe got to see many of his teammates.  These boys practically lived together for 6 months (if not longer) out of the school year, so getting back together is always a good time.  And there are always good stories to be heard!  :)
(Coach Simmons is in the black shirt)

I have met some of these players, but mainly "heard" about the rest.  So it was so fun to put a face with a funny story.  One player we have kept in contact with is Dusty Jones...and his wife Jennifer, of course.  We officially met at our wedding-then attended their wedding that same year.  And their son, Cooper, is just two weeks younger than Ainsley.  I was glad we got to spend some time with them!

We had such a great time and caught up with some great friends.  We will definitely have to do more!
