About Me

My photo
I am someone who always wanted to write, but never took the time. So now you can read my thoughts for the moment. Keeping up with my little family seems hectic at times...but it's my favorite thing to do!

VBS 2011

Vacation Bible School at Church was this week!
Ainsley only went 2 days...she was still a little shy about being with all those kids she didn't know.
Daddy took her on Sunday night and I took her on Tuesday night...
We started off the night with fun songs and a puppet show! (she really liked the puppets)

Then we went to Paul the Snake Charmer's room where we listened to a great story about Paul

Ainsley colored a snake picture-got a little "fake" snake to take home-and got fun animal bubbles to play with.
Then we went to the craft table and make a door hangers with stickers of all the animals that Noah put on the ark.
AND THEN IT WAS SNACK TIME!
If you can't tell...my girl LOVES popcorn.  She just sat and ate her popcorn like a big girl.  She was also fascinated by watching the big popcorn machine!
After snack, we went outside to play for a bit.
We went back in to sing a couple more songs and then went home.
She had fun...but didn't want to go back.
Maybe next year...

More Pool Fun

We took a quick trip to Texas with Joe's boss and his family.
His daughter lives in Fort Worth and has a great neighborhood pool.
Ainsley made a friend named Meegan and the two of them spent the entire day together.

some BUNNY loves...

Last night we were playing outside while Mammy and Daddy mowed.  DanDan went to check on Mammy and found her chasing this little animal with her mower.  (she thought it was a chipmunk or something)
So Dan caught it and Ainsley fell in love!

It was the tiniest rabbit she's ever seen and wanted to keep it so bad!

She loved on it so much.
Look at that face!  How was I supposed to tell her no!
It was just her size...it fit into one of her little hands.
She named it Bonita Bunny (with Mammy's help!)
I know NOTHING about bunnies!  But we all knew this was a tiny baby and probably needed it's momma.
Ainsley, after some convincing, took the bunny back to the field behind Mammy's house and released her to find her mommy.
She told me later that night that she missed that little bunny.  :(

Road Trips with Ainsley

You've gotta love long drives with kids!  We do this often because we have family that lives about 3hrs away.  Ainsley has always been really good in the car, but her toddler stages are kicking in!  She is getting bored about half way there.  She does good and trying to entertain herself...and here is just an example.
She often takes my phone or camera and just snaps photos.  When I go back to look at them, I always laugh.  These are rare glimpses of life thru her eyes.
On this particular road trip to Haskell, she like her shoes!
Check it out...

And one last picture of mom...
I don't know that I'll be able to say all our road trips are this good...we're heading on a plane in July.  Those pictures should be VERY interesting.
Stay tuned...

Princess Wedding

On Sat June 4th, my cousin Ashley Firestone got married in Ardmore.
I love weddings and wasn't going to pass up getting to see this Princess on her day.

All the girls ready to head to Ardmore!  I knew better than to put Ainsley's dress on before we got there...we all learn from our mistakes!
The wedding was outside at a little park...and it was BEAUTIFUL! (and although the weather is crazy, it really wasn't that hot)  Ainsley thought Ashley was a REAL princess!!  She was so impressed we got to go to a REAL princess party.  All she wanted to do was talk to the Princess.
I got to see some family I haven't seen in a long time, which was really nice.
Then we headed to the reception at the Ardmore Convention Center.  I must say, this was one fancy reception!  It was something out of a daydream!  Cathy did a fabulous job!

The bride and grrom had their first dance...
Then she danced with her father...
Joe and I enjoyed watching everyone dance and enjoy themselves...
I wish I wasn't so pregnant and I would have joined in!
I love a good reception!! (but I was not going to be that girl that everyone congratulated because I still boogied with a big belly!  And I can barely cover these boobs...I didn't need a celebrity slip!)
All girls need a make-up check!
Mammy and Ainsley doing the CHA CHA SLIDE!

And when she saw the other girls had heels one...she quickly asked to borrow mine!
When we got in the car to go home...much later than we thought we would...Ainsley told me the next time she would see that Princess would be at Disney World!  :)
What a great day and beautiful wedding!
I wish many more happy days to the newly married Jimmy and Ashley Hoggard!
(they went on their honeymoon to Disney World!  I guess Ainsely was right..Ashley was a REAL princess)

Summer is upon us

For the past couple of summers...we have spent Wed afternoons in the backyard at Mammy's house.
On Wed's, Mammy keeps KK and Crew and usually we join them.  The kids have a little pool and then, of course, the bigger pool is open, too.
We play...and snack...and tan!
We have recently started back out in the backyard...with some adjustments.
Sweet KK broke her arm a couple of weeks ago, and can't get wet.  It's been an interesting trying to keep her dry when she REALLY wants to play in the sprinkler.
But snacks seem to help!
Strawberries and Yoo-Hoo...MMMM!

Here's the whole gang!  Aren't they too cute?!?!
More summer fun to come!
