About Me

My photo
I am someone who always wanted to write, but never took the time. So now you can read my thoughts for the moment. Keeping up with my little family seems hectic at times...but it's my favorite thing to do!

4th of July

On Saturday night, after Mammy and I got off work, we all packed up and went to a cookout.  A friend of Mammy's from the hospital has a cookout and fireworks every year-but this is the first year we've been able to go.

It was so much fun!  Great food! and the fireworks were beautiful!
KK was so excited to see them, but Ainsley wasn't so much.  She said they were too loud, so we ended up going inside to watch them.

On Sunday, Ainsley and I just relaxed a bit and headed to Noah & Sandy's for a cookout that evening.

(I missed a good shot of Noah diving in the pool to catch a fly ball!)

It's so nice to spend the evening with friends and family...and better when the friends ARE your family!

On Monday, Dad had to finish up playing golf in the morning, so Ainsley and I had another lazy day.
When the time came, we all headed to Nana's house to watch the fireworks.  Since Ainsley wasn't too excited about them the first time around, I was a little nervous.  And for good reason...
The first one popped and we were in the house again.  I told her one day she would really like them, but today was not that day!

What a stud?!?!

A friend posted this on Facebook: "Parents, do me a favor: Call it Independence Day so your kids know what they're celebrating aside from hot dogs and small explosives.  You would be surprised how many 5th graders students have come to my class not knowing what makes July 4th a holiday."
So I told that to my family...and from then on, KK called her shirt her "Independence Day shirt"!
I never thought about explaining this holiday, and it's to complicated for a 3 year old-but calling it that will help with explanation later in life!

Happy Independence Day!
