About Me

My photo
I am someone who always wanted to write, but never took the time. So now you can read my thoughts for the moment. Keeping up with my little family seems hectic at times...but it's my favorite thing to do!

Breck 2012

Our family vacation this year was to Breckenridge, CO.
We made the LONG trip the last time we went and I didn't do so well.  My motion sickness got the best of ALL of us, I think.  So this trip, we decided to fly!
ALL 12 OF US!
Because of the snow in Denver, our flight was delayed an hour.  You know Ainsley, she grabbed a camera and started making memories!

Mammy
I wasn't really asleep...although it did appeal to me to do so!
Eva
Tracy
Mal and Millie
And, herself, of course.
Once we arrived everything was so beautiful! (after we got our rental car, had to make a mad dash back to the airport, stop for groceries and hit Denver 5 o'clock traffic)
The house was beautiful, the weather was perfect and we settled in for our first night.

We were up bright and early and Ainsley was ready to play outside.  Since Dan and Joe were dressed for skiing, Dan headed out with her to play a little.

She just thought it was so fun!!
After breakfast we dressed and headed downtown to Main St.

We remembered there was  a toy store that allowed you to play in the back so we headed there to keep the girls happy.
They both had such a good time!

There are tons of cute little shops and restaurants on Main St.  We mainly did a lot of window shopping. (we don't do well in the cold!)
And the view was amazing...

We didn't stay too long...and headed back to the house to meet up with our skiers and make dinner.
It was so relaxing.
The next day was about the same...
Up for breakfast...
Good morning Tracy!!
..then just relax until we were ready to head to Main St and conquer what we had left.
Because of the girls (and I think how much they were worn out from the day before) Dan and Joe came back and went with us!
We all wanted to ride the Gondola up the mountain...well, I was nervous.  I had been doing so well not getting sick.  I really didn't want to ruin it.
It took some convincing with Ainsley, too.  She wasn't too keen on the idea.  But when she got on, everything was fine.  It was such a pretty sight.

Ainsley was just dying to show her dad this toy store!!!  So where we did go??
Back to the toy store!
Millie enjoyed jumping on the trampoline/octopus thing!
As we were leaving the store, Ainsley saw a horse drawn carriage ride.  I just thought we would "look" at the horses and keep going.  But no, no...we rode it.
It was so fun!  We only rode for 10 minutes, but the scenery is just so beautiful and peaceful.

Look how freakin' big those horses were!!!

The next day, some went to ski a little and some didn't.  But we all went to eat at Bubba Gump's!  We never got the chance to go the first time we went, so I MADE sure we went this time!
Totally worth it!  We went at an odd time so it wouldn't be so crowded.  Everything was delicious!  I highly recommend it.
Just outside they have a bench you can pose on...so we did.

Again...a few of us headed to the cute little shops to look around.
Only this time it ended much more eventful.
And why might you ask....
I had a little misunderstanding with a step.
And the step won.

Day one

Day two
Day three
And after that the purple got lots darker...
It healed faster than I thought, but it HURT!

We headed home on Saturday night.  I had fun, but I was ready to be home.

All in all, my children traveled well and we really enjoyed getting away.
Maybe next time I won't be the one coming home with an injury!  :)
